Your Pet’s Dental Health is Important

 In Animal Care, Canine, Feline

By the time household pets reach 3 years of age 85 percent of them have periodontal disease. Oral health should not be neglected because not only does it cause serious local problems it also causes life-threatening systemic disease.

Without professional teeth cleanings these things will happen:

  • Mouth Pain
  • Bad breath
  • Tooth loss
  • Bleeding gums
  • Irritability
  • Kidney Failure
  • Heart Disease
  • Other systemic diseases
  • Other oral diseases and problems that go undiscovered

Every time a dog or cat eats they get microscopic cuts in their mouths. Tartar is like cement that contains millions of bacteria. This allows bacteria from the tartar to gain entrance into the pet’s bloodstream causing a bacteremia every time the animal eats. This bacteria infects and damages bodily organs especially kidneys. Even brushing your pet’s teeth does not stop this from happening. Before your pet has severe dental issues remember we are here to help. Neglecting you pet’s teeth will eventually result in primary kidney disease that ends in kidney failure which could have been prevented.
